Rajesh Rajagopalan is Professor at the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
His main areas of interest and research is Indian foreign policy, geopolitics and international political theory, security studies, and nuclear strategy.
Previously, Rajagopalan was Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi and Research Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi. He has served as Deputy Secretary at the National Security Council Secretariat of the Government of India and was also ICCR Visiting India Chair at Victoria University, Wellington, in 2011.
His articles (some jointly authored) have appeared in academic and policy journals including International Affairs, International Politics, The Washington Quarterly, Asia Policy, India Review, Contemporary South Asia, as well as in Indian newspapers and websites such as ThePrint, Economic Times, The Hindu, The Indian Express, Financial Express, Times of India and Hindustan Times.
