Pramit Pal Chaudhuri

Pramit Pal Chaudhuri is the South Asia practice head for the Eurasia Group, and is based in New Delhi.

He is also Visiting Fellow at the Ananta Aspen Centre, the Aspen Institute’s India affiliate. As a member of the Aspen Strategy Group of India, he is a delegate for a number of track two strategic dialogues with the United States, Japan, Israel, South Korea, Britain and the European Union.

Pramit previously served as foreign editor of Hindustan Times from 2000 to 2020. He served two terms on the National Security Advisory Board to two prime ministers of India from 2011 to 2015. He was a member of its task forces on maritime security, neighbourhood policy and China among others.

In the past, he has been a media fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, fellow at the Henry Stimson Centre, Washington DC; a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at the University of Maryland-College Park; a South Asian fellow at Cornell University and a Schwarz Fellow with the Asia Society New York. He remains a non-resident Associate Fellow with the last organization.

He is a graduate of Cornell University and has lived in and travelled to over 50 countries. He was born in Calcutta in 1964.
