Prior to this, he was Special Advisor directly reporting to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her personal office. He provided real-time advice and counsel to the minister on the economy and financial sectors in response to immediately pressing developments, while also executing longer-term projects to enhance her policy-making.
Sharad’s previous experience of more than 12 years as a business journalist covers almost every aspect of what goes into a publication, from copy-editing and page-making at the Financial Chronicle and Open Magazine, writing editorials for the Financial Express, to data journalism at Mint, and beat reporting for The Hindu.
